Everything you need for a delicious meal.
There’s nothing worse than arriving at your holiday accommodation and not having a well-kitted kitchen. The Black Shed’s is fully functional with a Smeg electric cooker, fridge, small freezer, useful utensils, tableware, and cooking essentials allowing you to cook up a storm. There is also a beautiful pottery collection from Skíō Pottery which we hope will enrich your enjoyment of food and drink at The Black Shed.
The clean lines of the stainless-steel worktops and cabinetry add a professional kitchen vibe, and the Highland handwash reminds us again of our location as the glass door fills the room with natural light and offers glimpses of the surrounding croft land.
You will find a welcome basket on your arrival containing homemade baked goods from the Dunvegan Deli.
A dining table and chairs are opposite the kitchen, in front of a full-height window looking towards Loch Dunvegan. Or, for long summer days, there’s also an outdoor decked area where you can sit and enjoy the view whilst dining al fresco, having cooked up some local produce on the BBQ provided.

Enjoy the Isle of Skye and Scottish produce.
Food is at the core of any Isle of Skye experience.
Whether you’d like some slow-reared, free-range, hand-processed meat (Skye Free Range) for the BBQ, a range of Scottish charcuterie and cheeses for a delicious cold platter or sweet treats for afternoon tea (The Dunvegan – Deli/shop), we are happy to point our guests in the right direction when it comes to sourcing and eating local produce.
You can find most store cupboard essentials in nearby Dunvegan, and you’ll be pleased to discover that the Dunvegan Deli/shop stocks an assortment of pasta and grains in a refillery – ideal for minimising waste and packaging, as you can buy just enough for your stay.

Dining out at the Black Shed
If you fancy treating yourself to a meal at one of the wonderful eateries on the Isle of Skye, there are many to choose from, serving fresh local and Scottish produce. We are always happy to suggest places.
For a relaxed, informal vibe local to The Black Shed, we unashamedly recommend The Dunvegan Fire Restaurant and Café on the banks of Loch Dunvegan. Pursuing our passion for food, drink, design and the environment, we have created a space that brings together family and friends to enjoy quality and sustainable ingredients from around the Highlands and across Scotland cooked over fire – inspired by family-influenced Argentine cuisine, traditions & cooking techniques.
